So my blogging break has been extremely short lived, but for a very fantastic reason. Calgary's Mayor Naheed Nenshi has been announced as the Grand Marshal for the Calgary Pride Parade in September! This momentous announcement deserves a brief break, from the break.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but he will be the first mayor of Calgary to lead the parade in it's history. So awesome! Nenshi has been the first of many for Calgary and I'm very happy to see how all respresenting he is of all his citizens.
Calgary Pride Week runs September 1-11 this year and you can gets info on all the events at Pride Calgary. The Pride Parade will be on Sunday, September 4th at noon. I dare say, the Metcalf's will be there with literal bells and beads on to hoot and hollar with pride for our family, friends, and Grand Marshal Mayor Nenshi! Awesome man, seriously great!!!

Hey, that's so great! Quite a contrast to Toronto's mayor Rob Ford, who went out of his way not to show up at T.O.'s Pride Parade last weekend.

I'm very excited! He's such a good mayor and I think the parade will be oodles of fun this year :)
